ABOUT US

Mohammad Bazar Backward Classes Development Society (MBBCDS) is a non-governmental organization founded in 2000 in the Mohammad Bazar block of West Bengal’s Birbhum district. Our work comprises the educational, economic, and political empowerment of marginalized communities such as Adivasis (particularly the Santhal people) and Muslims in many villages in Jharkhand’s Birbhum district, as well as neighboring Shikaripara and Dumka districts. Despite the limitations of engaging with these most marginalized people, MBBCDS has been encouraging children and young girls who drop out of school by supporting local educational initiatives such as a school that offers free study materials, free coaching, free uniforms, boarding and lodging. MBBCDS reached out and began collecting women around gender justice and rights through their educational activities with girls. Furthermore, the organization organizes health and rights awareness activities, education, counselling, and leadership training for social uplift and political empowerment. We recognize the significance of environmental preservation for future generations. Our aim includes supporting sustainable practices such as renewable energy, organic farming, and natural resource conservation. We hope to foster long-term resilience and environmental stewardship in the communities we serve by incorporating sustainable development ideas into our activities. Agriculture extension is an important component of our mission since it helps rural economies. We seek to enhance agricultural practices by providing farmers with information and resources to increase production and sustainability. We seek to enhance the agriculture sector so that rural communities can have food security and economic stability. We seek to increase healthcare access and awareness in rural communities by encouraging disease prevention, early identification, and treatment. We aim to promote the overall well-being and quality of life in the areas where we work by tackling health issues.
